If it's true that everything we do is a result of either fear or desire, do the fanatical outnumber the faint-hearted? And are the two feelings diametrically opposed or do they work in unison? The shy sing. The clumsy dance. Acrophobics climb mountains, pentheraphobics marry, and monophobics divorce. Do we not often want what we're afraid of? And are we always afraid of our desires? Do we fear being afraid and thus work to overcome fear with the desire to achieve? Do phobia phobics exist? I'm afraid this whole line of thought is giving me a desperate desire for aspirin.
